This summer will see the return of the Summer Series at The Brentford Project, which will bring together a host of local partners for a jam-packed events programme from May to September, designed to celebrate the best of west London’s arts and cultural scene.
Offering up some of west London’s finest fares, RMS Markets will be taking over the yards on the second Saturdays of June, July and August, each market will offer an impressive variety of delicious fresh produce, hot food, drinks, plant and flower stalls, terrarium art, and much more.
Family-run classic and supercar hub, Duke of London, will also be opening its doors for each Saturday market, showcasing a selection of its vehicles, while on-site bakery, Rye by the Water, will be offering a wide selection of freshly baked treats and outdoor dining on its waterside terrace.
Hosted in the event space, The Summer Talks will invite a series of inspirational and influential business minds to share their stories, knowledge and insights – including Michelin starred chef and founder of Kaizen House, Elizabeth Haigh; journalist and co-host of popular podcast After Work Drinks, Grace O’Neill, and Victoria Prew, CEO and co-founder of wardrobe rental platform, HURR Collective. Each talk can be joined either in person, or virtually through The Brentford Project’s IGTV.
For culture vultures, August will see a weekend of interactive outdoor theatre from The Walking Theatre Company. Transforming The Brentford Project’s outdoor spaces into a living, breathing stage, the team will bring an unforgettable production of The Tempest and A Midsummer Night’s Dream to Brentford’s waterside.
Local artist Mark Pearce will be lending his expertise for ‘Paint the Town Blue’ and hosting a series of painting classes during August – with The Brentford Project’s waterside setting providing a picturesque backdrop to each session. Running alongside, there will be a social media competition, with the chance to win a complete painters’ set of easel, canvas, paints and brushes.
In addition, throughout the summer The Brentford Project’s event space will play host to a roster of regular classes and workshops, including weekend workouts across the summer with cult fitness brand House of Voga, a blend of yoga, fashion, Vogue and contemporary dance. For those looking for something a little more relaxing, Glass Gardens London will be leading monthly terrarium art workshops.
All the events within The Summer Series programme will adhere to the Government guidelines in place at the time and will be fully compliant and Covid-19 safe.
