Sean Mulryan lifetime achievement in placemaking

Ballymore Chairman, CEO, and Founder, Sean Mulryan, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Business Post, celebrating a five-decade career in property development.

AWARDS

Sean received the award at a ceremony in Dublin last night, recognising both his and Ballymore’s pivotal role in shaping neighbourhoods across Ireland and beyond.

The presentation highlighted his work in transforming landmark sites in London – from Embassy Gardens, a key part of the Nine Elms regeneration, where Sean’s long-term vision culminated in the artisanal-crafted residences of The Capston, to London City Island and the relocation of the English National Ballet to the Mulryan Centre for Dance, a central anchor in this cultural riverside destination.

Reflecting on the accolade, Sean said: “I’m deeply grateful to be recognised, not just for the work we’ve done here in Ireland, but across the markets where Ballymore operates. This award is a reminder of what a great team can achieve, and I’m excited for the future as we continue to create homes, workspaces, and places that people love across Ireland and beyond.”

Beyond development, Sean is a lifelong champion of arts and culture, supporting established and emerging artists for more than 45 years. Through arts initiatives and backing major cultural and sporting events, he has helped strengthen creative and community ecosystems on both sides of the Irish Sea. He is also a committed advocate for education and skills, recently launching the Ballymore Construction Apprenticeship Bursary to support the next generation of construction professionals.

This latest accolade follows several recent honours, including the Freedom of the City of London, recognising Sean’s transformative impact on London’s urban landscape, and the Kildare Business Awards Outstanding Contribution to Business in 2023.

Ballymore itself has won more than 80 awards for its work, which you can read more about here.
