Working with the LDA on our newest homes in Ireland

Located in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, Hampton Demesne is an exciting new neighbourhood that will deliver a total of 817 Starter and Social homes, along with a crèche, a new park with recreational facilities for all age groups, and a local neighbourhood retail centre. The neighbourhood will also be well serviced by cycle and car parking facilities.

The first 73 homes comprise two-, three- and four bedroom-homes in Phase 1 of the development, an area that will deliver 259 Starter and Social homes in total.

All of the homes in this initial sales phase will be made available to eligible buyers through the Starter Home Purchase Scheme, which is managed jointly by Fingal County Council and the LDA. Applications will be accepted via an online portal which will go live on 19 August at 12 midday.

Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Tony Murphy, said; “This is a significant milestone for Balbriggan and for Fingal as we continue to deliver the high-quality, homes that our communities need. These new homes will help more people and families put down roots in the area while supporting the continued growth of Balbriggan as a great place to live.

“The new parks, community amenities and transport infrastructure being delivered alongside these homes will benefit both new and existing residents for years to come.”

Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, James Browne TD added: “The opening of applications for these Starter Homes at Hampton Demesne is another important step in increasing the supply of new homes to meet the needs of growing communities. Developments like this demonstrate what can be achieved through strong collaboration between the Government, the Land Development Agency, Fingal County Council and our other delivery partners.

“Hampton Demesne is about much more than housing. Alongside new homes, it will deliver the infrastructure and community facilities needed to support a growing population, helping to create a sustainable new neighbourhood in Balbriggan. Increasing housing supply remains the Government’s top priority, and developments like this are making a real difference for people looking to buy their first home.”

Funding through the Government’s Housing Infrastructure Investment Fund (HIIF) has supported the delivery of essential infrastructure at Castlelands, helping to unlock the site for residential development and accelerating the delivery of new homes.

The funds will support infrastructure including the Castlelands Link Road, a rail overbridge for the Dublin-Belfast railway line, the R127 realignment, a pump station which can facilitate a future swimming pool, major service diversions and new water infrastructure.

The remaining 187 homes in Phase 1 will be completed by 2027.
