Party in the park: celebrate the Great British summer at Royal Wharf

[London: 2nd June 2018]: On Saturday 21st July, Royal Wharf will host a summer festival between 11.00am and 7.00pm in the new Royal Wharf Park. Located in London’s Royal Docks, the Royal Wharf Summer Fete will bring together the best of the capital’s food, drink and entertainment, providing the perfect opportunity to relax and enjoy the sunshine in London’s newest riverside destination.

The Royal Wharf Summer Fete will showcase a mouth-watering selection of world food, from timeless British classics to pan-Asian treats. Kerbisher and Malt, Esquire Magazine’s Best British fish and chips, will bring the taste of the seaside to Royal Wharf, while guests will be treated to Born ‘n Raised artisan Pizza, handcrafted and fired from a custom-built Land Rover Defender. For a taste of the east, Rainbo’s Japanese Street Food will serve up the best gyoza this side of Tokyo. A selection of classic cocktails, Pimm’s and craft beer will also be available throughout the festival.

For those seeking a healthy start to the day, there will be free yoga sessions at 10am in the park, providing the ideal opportunity to embrace Royal Wharf’s greenery while taking in sweeping views of the River Thames. For more information, and to book your yoga slot, visit the Royal Wharf Summer Fete Facebook event page.

A musical soundtrack to the summer festival will be provided by Robbie Boyd, a London-based singer songwriter and permanent fixture on the UK’s airwaves for the last eight years. Robbie has performed on ITV’s This Morning on two occasions, as well as starring on Graham Norton’s BBC Radio 2 show. Royal Wharf will turn up the volume with Das Brass, an eight-piece brass band with a penchant for rock, pop and funk favourites. The jazz heavyweights will be on hand throughout the day, with renditions of The White Stripe’s Seven Nation Army and unique takes on TV theme tunes to funk up the Summer Fete.

Hosted by Ballymore and Oxley, proceeds from the event will go to Richard House Children's Hospice, a charity that supports children and their families in East London to lead as positive and happy a life as possible when dealing with a life-limiting health condition. The charity has organised a traditional sports day for the Fete, with a number of events from hula hooping to races taking place for family and friends to enjoy. All proceeds from the Sports Day will go towards this worthy cause.

The Royal Wharf Summer Fete is just a 5 minute walk from Pontoon Dock DLR station and entry is free of charge. All are welcome and to find out more/to register your interest please visit: Royal Wharf Summer Fete event

About Royal Wharf:

Comprising of nearly 3,500 new homes set on 40 acres along the river, Royal Wharf is located moments from Canary Wharf, with outstanding transport links to central London. Travelling from Pontoon Dock or West Silvertown on the DLR, and Canning Town on the Jubilee Line, will enable residents to reach the West End in 20 minutes, Canary Wharf in five minutes and London City Airport in two minutes. The opening of a new Crossrail station at Custom House will mean that residents can reach Heathrow Airport in just 41 minutes and the West End in 15 minutes. In addition, the Emirates Air Line, London’s only cross-river cable car, is a short walk away. The homes command spectacular views over the river Thames, O2 and Canary Wharf and have been inspired by the traditional Georgian architecture of Belgravia and Fitzrovia.

About Ballymore and Oxley’s collaboration:

Oxley and Ballymore offer a complementary set of skills and resources for the Royal Wharf development. Oxley is one of the largest developers in Singapore and are also actively engaged in the development of important projects in Malaysia, Cambodia and the People’s Republic of China. Significant financial strength, strong brand recognition in Asia and a reputation for delivering high quality developments are additional strengths Oxley brings to Royal Wharf.
