Site Engineer, Permanent - Canary Wharf

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage contractor’s daily activities and co-ordination of works with other trades on site.
  • Taking particular care to manage the Health and Safety and Logistics of all site operations
  • Partake in meetings taking notes and updating on all relevant information.
  • Assist Senior engineer to manage contractor packages from commencement to completion. 
  • Carry out QA checks with contractor to what is required/expected is delivered. 
  • Inspect construction work for compliance with drawings, specification and codes.
  • Ensure smooth flow of information between design team and contractors when dealing with Requests for Information & Non Conformance Reports.
  • Review design drawings for constructability in advance of the works.
  • Prepare progress reports, periodic photographic progress reports and keep supervisors informed on progress of assigned tasks.
  • Provide field based technical input to construction activities.
  • Supervise and monitor all temporary works on site ensuring all as per design.
  • Ensure permits such as permit to load, strike, hot works etc… are being carried out correctly.
  • Reports and records daily (diary, photographs etc…) on the project safety, environment and quality issues, progress, technical decisions, changes, manpower and equipment presence and use, significant deliveries and other significant events on site to Senior Engineer.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering or similar
  • CSCS, SMSTS, First aid, Temporary works qualified
  • 2 years minimum post qualification, on site experience 
  • Site management experience (preferred)
