Provide the efficient and effective management of all aspects of estate gardens and plants/trees.
To be involved with and assist the Operations Manager with the selection of the Gardening and Grounds Contractor including helping to review and update the specification as required.
To provide colourful and interesting gardens whilst keeping a secure and safe environment for the residents, commercial tenants and staff in mind.
To develop the gardens in a cost-effective manner including growing on plants and working with the facilities manager and gardening contractors to ensure that plants are in the right environment in terms of weather, sunlight, irrigation etc.
To ensure garden and grounds records are up to date.
Foster a positive and professional relationship with resident’s who take an interest in the gardens and the NPWLRA, other stake holders in the estate such as landlords, commercial tenants and housing association.
Day to day gardening duties to include and not limited to pruning, weeding, watering, growing, planting, hedge cutting, leaf collection, composting, grass cutting.
Weekly supervision of the gardening and grounds contractor to instruct and supervise their work. Conducting meetings with the contractor management as required and documenting agreed outcomes.
Skills & Experience:
Horticultural qualification at QCF level 3 with practical horticultural experience
Strong track record of working collaboratively, diplomatically and effectively with a wide range of people.
A full driving license and PA1:PA6 certification would be advantageous
Knowledge and experience of Resort.
Good knowledge Health & Safety.
